oh dear, the telephone appointment system, although better than it was, is still too difficult to access and when you do get through the appointments have usually been filled. The online system is even worse, quite useless for anything under two weeks ahead (if there is any availability at all, that is). In desperation if I need an appointment I have taken to driving 4 miles and waiting for the surgery to open at 8.00am

I can't speak highly enough of the support that I've received from Dr Wilson and the staff, both nursing and administrative, at Cross Keys Surgery. After many blood tests and a series of investigations, I sincerely thank Dr Wilson for her determination to find a solution to my challenge. Furthermore, if you call the surgery, they will offer to arrange for Dr Wilson to ring back around lunchtime and that has been really helpful when an appointment is not possible. Thank you Team Cross Keys.

I would recommend the surgery. I have a good GP - Dr A Wilson and have also found Dr Fish very helpful, on the odd occasion's I have seen her. I find the health care assistants/nurses friendly and helpful. The majority of the receptionists are very helpful. However, I have experienced one receptionist who I found blunt on the telephone, to the point of seeming rude and unhelpful. I think it would be extremely useful, if there was an on line booking service, as when working full time it can be very difficult to always be able to phone at 8am. I have often experienced, by the time I have got through on the telephone all the appointments have gone for that day. If there was on line booking for the day, it would give more choice. My only other comment is I popped into the surgery to inquire if I needed a repeat blood test this week, and the receptionist, loudly went through all the blood tests I had been given and what came back normal, and made a remark of "you have had a lot of blood tests". I felt quite embarrassed as there was a que of people behind me! I think a reminder of patient confidentiality would be useful.

Thank you for your comments and taking the time to write them as we find this feedback very useful. We will review your comments about Reception and discuss these with the team. Online appointments - we are looking into this at the moment and hope to come up with a solution to alleviate this issue. Cross Keys Surgery

We have increased the number of receptionist to try and help this issue. However, the lines will be busy at 8am but we are looking into this.
